About Us

The Nancy and Daniel Benoit Foundation (NDBF) is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization who is dedicated in creating awareness about anabolic steroid abuse through education to youth, their parents and all adults. NDBF was formed in memory of Nancy Benoit and her son Daniel Benoit in August, 2007, by Nancy's mother, father and sister.

We provide funding to programs which educate youth and their parents about the adverse effects of anabolic steroids. We are working towards partnering, on the national level, with corporate sponsors with like-minded goals, who see the epidemic in sports that can lead to violence at home and even death.

First, we need to educate our youth and their parents on the dangers of steroids, which are too often used illegally to enhance performance in sports.

We encourage all students to log on to www.iplayclean.org and take The Pledge Clean Pledge. We are just getting started with ways to educated youth and parents. We are determined to create awareness and to encourage education, to help prevent another family from going through the tragedy of losing a loved-one.

As a foundation in its infancy, our goal is to have several fund raising events annually, which we encourage all donors and recipients to attend or participate in. We pride ourselves on being realistic in our approach to fund disbursement and research grant approval. We aim to make every penny count and hold both the donation and grant seeker accountable for how the donation is utilized.

We have aimed to make the application process for funding and the donation process for giving as simplistic and seamless as possible, while also being helpful and informative. We will provide quick answers and immediate response to any and all inquiries.

Our Story

The Nancy and Daniel Benoit Foundation was formed in August of 2007 by remaining family members after their tragic and untimely deaths in June of that same year. Nancy and Daniel were the wife and son of professional wrestler Chris Benoit who murdered them and later committed suicide in the family's Fayetteville, Georgia home.

Nancy Benoit was a successful professional in the wrestling entertainment industry. She garnered respect and acclaim from fans and co-workers alike, working hard and always thinking of the business and the people in it as family. She retired and married a man she loved with all of her heart and had a beautiful little boy they named Daniel.

Daniel was born in February to a loving family who adored him above no other. He was a beautiful, healthy baby and toddler. He loved going to the beach with his grandparents, reading with his Aunt and being with his parents to do anything at all. As he grew into a young boy Daniel started to show an interest in animals and his parents bought him two German Shepards which he doted on night and day. He rode horses at the neighbors horse camp and loved watching any animals on television. He also loved to watch his father wrestle and listen to stories told by his Mother about what wrestlers were doing in the ring and the history of wrestling.

Robbed of their future and left with a scared past, Nancy and Daniel Benoit's family want to help others in their present and have done so by creating this foundation in their honor. It is important to not forget the victims in this horrible tragedy. It is equally as important to the Nancy and Daniel Benoit Foundation to do all it can through education and assistance to overcome all forms of abuse that any human being may be experiencing.
